2021 Opening times and dates are at the foot of this page. All text in green applies to our opening under coronavirus guidelines.

One person will be required to get out of the car at the kiosk on arrival to pay for the occupants. Payment will be taken, preferably by contactless card payment.

Hand sanitiser is provided in the loos and in the Tea Room area. There may be some one way routes in pinch points in the exhibitions and gardens in order to maintain social distancing. Please be aware of your own and the safety of others at all times.  There is so much space at the Abbey it should be easy to take care.

We ask our visitors to rigidly respect social distancing and keep children under control at all times while coronavirus rules still exist.

UP UNTIL 17TH MAY: The Tea Rooms will be serving delicious sandwiches, baguettes, hot and cold drinks and their especially delicious cakes and cream teas all in compostable packaging. Visitors will be able to enjoy our outside courtyard seating or enjoy a picnic on the large grassy car park or at the beach.

FROM 17TH MAY: The Tea Rooms will be fully open again, indoors and outside. The House will reopen (2-4pm).

Ice creams will be available from the payhut.

Our lavatories will be open on a ‘one in, one out’ system. Until May 17th we regret we are unable to open the wheelchair or baby changing facilities as these are situated within the house. We apologise profusely but the situation is out of our control.

We will open at other times and dates  for groups  of over 20 people if required.

A visit to Hartland Abbey is fun for all ages. Whilst adults enjoy the house and grounds, children can enjoy the quiz with everyone winning a prize!
