Hartland Abbey and Gardens reopen on Sunday 16th March 2025 for DAFFODIL DAY. Our main season opens on Sunday 30th March until Thursday 2nd October 2025 (Suns to Thurs plus Good Friday).  NO PREBOOKING REQUIRED. We much look forward to welcoming our visitors again. Payment is on arrival at the kiosk. We would be grateful for card payment if possible.

A visit to Hartland Abbey with its lovely gardens and grounds is fun and interesting for all ages. Whilst adults enjoy the fascinating  historic house and gardens, children enjoy the Abbey Quiz (with a prize for all}, the Malory Towers Trail or exploring the lovely paths and woodland walks where nature abounds. 3 1/2 miles in all!

Delicious homemade light lunches & cream teas in the Old Kitchens Tea Room (entry only with House and/or Garden tickets)

Exhibitions, Museum, Gift Shop and Plant Stall

Access to the house is via steps and not ideal, but possible, for wheelchairs with help. Access to the Tea Room and Exhibitions is flat and perfectly accessible for wheelchairs. We regret we cannot accept electric mobility wheelchairs in the house as the rooms and corridors are too narrow. There is gravel surrounding the Abbey but lovely flat grassy areas. The gardens have steps in places but The Shrubbery is accessible to wheelchairs. The walk to the beach is via a track and uneven in places.

Picnics can be enjoyed on the large grass car park.

We love dogs but on leads please. Guide dogs only in the house. Large car park adjacent to the house.
